But the story didn’t end there…
Within the room were three groups of people who felt more needed to be done…
In a fabulous turn of events, we were able to announce that an anonymous donor wanted to supplement the grants by giving an extra $10,000 each to The Blue Room Theatre and to the Darling Range Wildlife Shelter.
And then the Tate Family Foundation, who have a focus of disadvantaged youth, decided to make it even for Fair Game with a grant from them of $10,000.
And there’s more…
By the next morning, Fair Game were set to receive yet another top up of $5,000 and The Blue Room Theatre an extra $2,500 from Megan and Arthur Criddle who have been super-involved as focus area co-chairs year.
In addition, this showcasing of the charities and the work they do has encouraged donors to find other ways to support them:
Four computers are on their way to Autism West after their application indicated an urgent need. There are discussions happening about work experience opportunities for CARAD and Zonta clients and about dental treatments to increase self-esteem. Plans are also afoot to implement ways for corporates to benefit from the expertise of performers.
