We have chosen our five 2024 Finalists

It is always so hard to choose between the initiatives on our shortlist but the beauty of collective giving is that it’s a group decision. We provide the information we’ve gathered through site visits and reading applications and then all donors are invited to vote according to what they feel is important.

Almost 40 of us gathered to discuss the merits and risks of the shortlisted initiatives:

  • who/what will they benefit,
  • why are they important,
  • what will be their outcomes (both short- and long-term),
  • are they likely to be able to keep it running beyond our grant
  • and more…

Donors old and new came along – some to listen and learn, some to contribute their wisdom and ALL of us with the desire to spend our pooled funds in the most powerful way possible.

So we are delighted to announce the following five organisations as our Finalists for 2024:
Anchor

ADHD WA – Supporting Regional Children with ‘Sparkly Brains’
Cinefest Oz – On the Road with the Screen Machine
Gosnells Community Legal Centre – Specialist Child Support Legal Clinic
Lionheart Camp for Kids – Raw to Roar: Lionheart’s Grief Pathway Pilot
Orana House – SWitCH on, Power Up – Supporting Women in the Community

For more information on their proposed initiatives, check them out here.

Each of these five will be presenting their case in person at our 2024 Grant Awards Night on Wednesday 23rd October. Mark the date in your calendar – invitations will be winging their way to all donors very soon.
