Our 2018 Primary Grant Winners, Dismantle is an organisation that enables and empowers vulnerable young people to live their life in a self-directed way.
Their “ReNew Properties Maintenance” project is a social enterprise that will engage at-risk youth in vocational pathways doing garden and property maintenance.
ReNew have ticked off their risk analysis, health and safety requirements and business plan.
They are now sourcing participants from their own Bike Rescue mentoring program and have two ‘maintenance mentors’ ready to go and customers such as Uniting Care West lined up.
Local company, Kennards Hire, are offering ReNew both a source of work and discounted use of their equipment.
Their Impact:
For customers, ReNew Property Maintenance is a high-quality, reliable property maintenance service with an extra layer – a strong social outcome.
For youth trainees, ReNew Property Maintenance is an opportunity to work alongside ReNew’s maintenance staff and explore a range of vocational pathways through paid work experience.
For Dismantle, ReNew Property Maintenance is the opportunity to extend our mentoring and therapeutic support for selected BikeRescue graduates.
